This old photo, from Iron Horse Military Antiques says Lovell Army Hospital was in Newport, whereas Wikipedia says Lovell was in Portsmouth. The two communities are on the same island (Aquidneck), and are only separated by the town of Middleton which is, appropriately, in the middle. There are, on the Internet, old postcards of a Lovell Hospital at Fort Devens, Massachusetts, an hour or so north of Rhode Island, but these are clearly from WWI or, probably, WWII as there are cars in the pictures.
